Good vs Bad Oils

Good vs Bad Oils

by biocharged staff

A lot of our health conscious customers have concerns around seed oils, rightfully so! This is a hot topic full of complexity. Today we’re diving specifically into why we selected sunflower oil for Resistor.

Wait…Should I be concerned about seed oils?

Commercially bought seed oils used in restaurants, packaged foods etc are often processed using high heat and chemicals. This can destroy their nutrient profiles and produce harmful byproducts such as trans fats and acrolein which have been linked to health issues.

To take it even more granular oils such as corn, soybean, canola, and sunflower are higher in omega-6 fatty acids. Concerns develop if there is a stark imbalance with an individual's omega-3 to omega-6 ratio in the body.

Positives of Sunflower Oil *in small doses

Like all things in life, moderation is key. Liberal and abundant use in high quantities of nearly all ingredients is not good for your health. However, when ingested in intentional doses one can take in the benefits of natural ingredients. This was a key philosophy during the creation of Resistor, which contains 300mg of Organic Sunflower Oil per serving (roughly 0.06 teaspoons). With that concept in mind here are some benefits of sunflower oil:

  • Good source of Vitamin E
  • Contains Phytosterols
  • Good source of Linoleic Acid

If properly maintained and treated the nutritional profile of sunflower oil actually carries some benefits such as protecting the body from inflammation, lowering cholesterol, and lowering the risk of heart disease.

Keeping it *High Quality*

When formulating Resistor, we wanted to focus on bringing the safest yet strongest punch of ozone therapy we could possibly fit in one small capsule. Our research led us to sunflower oil as it ranks well on the Potential Ozonide Index (POI). And to take it even further, we wanted to source a cold pressed, chemical free, certified organic, pure oil so that we were delivering only good things to our customers in an effort to supercharge their health goals. Furthermore the treatment of ozonation helps to eliminate harmful components of sunflower oil and replace them with benefits of ozone therapy.

While we recommend avoiding sunflower oil as something you grab while cooking in the kitchen or even on the label of your foods - The cold processed, organic sunflower oil used in Resistor can actually provide a helpful boost to your health coupling benefits like lowering cholesterol with the (many!) benefits of ozone therapy. A powerful combination for your health!
